A Day in the Life as a WIC CSFP Nutrition Coordinator:

As a WIC CSFP Nutrition Coordinator your day will involve: 

  • Overseeing the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Nutrition Education components of the WIC, CSFP, FMNP and Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Programs
  • Providing guidance and support to Agency nutritionists by providing information on best practices, updates on current nutrition standards, and interpretation of policies and procedures. 
  • Assisting with the design, implementation and evaluation of the program nutrition objectives established annually for the state work plan.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities as required by Agency, state, and federal regulations, including completion of evaluations and audits of program activities; identifies areas in need of improvement and develops corrective action plans; provides guidance to nutrition staff with goal setting for corrective actions.  
  • Formulates and implements nutrition care plans for individual participants utilizing Value Enhanced Nutrition Services and Participant Centered Education; provides nutrition education to high-risk WIC participants according to state and federal policies and procedures. 
  • Provide nutrition counseling to pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children participating in accordance with federal and state guidelines and policies and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications to Be a Nutrition Coordinator:

To excel in this role, you’ll need: 

  • Education: Must have a minimum of RD, LDN with a B.S or M.S in Nutrition Science and current eligibility for licensure as a Registered Dietician from the American Dietetic Association in the state of New Hampshire. 
  • Experience: 3-5 years experience in community nutrition with increasing responsibility for program management.
  • Skills: Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining clinic role.
  • Technical: Skilled in the use of office software applications and computer applications. 

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required due to travel to clinic sites.
