Primary purpose: This position will be responsible for addressing window service and door service issues.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Service Duties: Perform service-related duties for both the window department and door department, including job site visits to install screens, slab swaps, glass service, hardware, and address installation issues.
• Window Deliveries: Assist with window deliveries if required, including unloading window trucks.
• Customer Interaction: Interact with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Adherence to Policies: Follow all Franklin Building Supply policies and procedures.
• Safety and Professionalism: Always work safely and professionally.
• Support Company Values: Support Franklin’s vision, mission, values, and culture, including safety, lean principles, and prioritizing employees.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required:

• Versatility and creativity:  This job will require creativity and critical thinking as you will likely encounter new issues daily.  Some will not have clear answers and will require thoughtful and careful on-the-job adjustments. This position requires patience and a willingness to see the job all the way through. 
• Focus and Organization: Can focus on a task in an environment with many distractions, and is detail-oriented and organized.
• Structural Understanding: Some understanding of the components associated with the structure of a home. Some knowledge of the products associated with the door and window departments.
• Time Management: Capable of managing time effectively to complete tasks quickly and productively.
• Problem-Solving: Recognize problems and assist in suggesting and executing solutions.
• Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, this position will be required to deal with both FBS  customers and homeowners. 
• Phone Communication: This position will be required to speak to both FBS customers and homeowners on the phone. 
• Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize tasks, be patient with distractions, and manage time effectively.
• Versatility and Following Directions: Willing to be versatile, understand, and follow directions.
• Self-motivating: This position will primarily operate alone; the ability to self-motivate and complete all tasks in a day is a must. 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with window and or door deliveries.
• Assist with window and or door installation.
• Assist in the unloading of window deliveries from suppliers.
• Communicate with customers.
• Follow up to ensure work is completed correctly.
• Communicate throughout the day with the window operation team.
• Utilize hand and power tools throughout the day.
• Be an effective communicator and team player
• Devoted to growing a knowledge base
• Able to problem solve with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated and possesses stamina and focus to perform outstanding work consistently 
• Willing to do more than what is required, happily accept tasks
• Willing to take the initiative to show someone else how things ought to work 
• A pleasant demeanor and lead by example
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds
• Possess a driver’s license with a clean driving record

Strongly Preferred:

• Building Industry Experience: Past involvement in the building industry.
• Window Background: Some knowledge of window and glass service is strongly preferred.
• Door Background: Some knowledge of door production and or service is strongly preferred.
• Bilingual Skills: Bilingual abilities would be a plus, but are not necessary.
