Location requirements/Schedule: This role is hybrid, with 3 days onsite in Boston, MA .

Job Summary

As a DevOps Engineer Windows, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring Windows operating systems, servers, and related infrastructure. This position will have a strong focus on using products to ensure reproducible environments that are able to scale out both on-premise and on the cloud (Azure, AWS).

The DevOps Engineer- Windows will also provide technical support to end-users and collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure optimal system performance and security. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to IT and Business stakeholders.

This is a multi-tasking environment that demands customer service, communication, and organizational skills. A successful candidate will be motivated, results-oriented, and have a willingness to learn.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge in automating system and application lifecycles
  • Working knowledge of enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, servers, and related infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows services.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
  • Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgement
  • Scripting (python, etc.) skills for monitoring and automation
  • Experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
  • Possess a strong grasp of automation tools
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

60% of time:

  • Maintain and enhance enterprise environment:
  • Maintain and manage Windows operating systems, servers, and related infrastructure.
  • Build, maintain, and monitor CI/CD pipelines for Windows-based applications.
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring scalability and high availability.
  • Maintain documentation for setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of infrastructure.
  • Conduct research and evaluate new technologies and industry trends related to Windows systems and infrastructure
  • Ensure reliability and security via patching and controls,
  • Move to Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

30% of Time:

  • Create documentation and process improvements
  • Heavy focus on automation
  • Evaluate, recommend, and build environments and tools to improve/modernize infrastructure

10% of time:

  • Request fulfillment
  • Work with other IT and business owners to process requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows systems and servers.
