Wine Director & Lead Sommelier – Beverly’s at The Coeur d’Alene Resort

Compensation: $65,000 + 50% bonus potential

About the Role Beverly’s, the signature fine dining restaurant at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, is seeking a passionate and experienced Wine Director and Head Sommelier to lead our esteemed wine program. This role is pivotal in delivering an exceptional wine experience to our Guests, curating an extensive wine list, and fostering a culture of wine excellence across all resort dining venues.
Key Responsibilities
Wine Program Leadership: Define and uphold the mission of Beverly’s wine program, ensuring it reflects the highest standards and showcases a diverse selection.
Guest Engagement: Provide personalized wine service, including conducting wine tours, classes, and tastings to enhance Guest experiences.
Staff Training: Educate and train restaurant staff on wine selections, pairings, and service techniques to ensure knowledgeable recommendations and service.
Inventory Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of wine storage areas, ensuring proper stock rotation, temperature control, and display aesthetics.
Procurement: Select and purchase wines for the restaurant’s offerings, including by-the-glass options and special events, maintaining relationships with vendors and distributors.
Financial Oversight: Manage wine program costs, including pricing strategies, promotions, and inventory controls to meet financial objectives.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Assistant Food and Beverage Director and General Manager to innovate and grow the wine program, aligning with culinary offerings and Guest expectations.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional areas.
Certifications: Court of Master Sommeliers Level 2 or higher preferred. WSET Level 2 or higher
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a deep passion for wine and Guest service.
