Winter/Spring Swim Lesson Instructor

Do you love making a splash and teaching others to do the same? We're looking for energetic and enthusiastic swim instructors to join our aquatic team! As an instructor, you'll be guiding swimmers of all ages and skill levels, helping them build confidence, learn new techniques, and most importantly, have a blast in the water. This position offers the flexibility you need, so you can balance work and play effortlessly. Come make a difference and help others dive into success!

Salary Range: $20/Hr.

Must be available to work the following days/times:

• Mondays through Thursdays


• 4:00-5:45 pm

Part-Time Wages

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Teaches swim classes following the Park District’s instructional swimming program


• Enforces pool rules, prevents accidents, and maintains discipline


• Assists the Lesson Coordinator with inserting or removing lap lines and bringing equipment to the pool area


• Performs basic maintenance in pool area and locker rooms to ensure a safe and clean environment


• Report any irregular discipline, safety, or maintenance problems to the Pool Manager or Lesson Coordinator


• Participates in instructional clinics and other skill development activities

This position will need to have a strong knowledge of:

• Thorough knowledge of swimming and instructional techniques


• Capacity to lead swim classes, identify students’ need for swimming technique improvement and provide instruction for correcting incorrect swimming techniques


• Ability to enforce facility rules and regulations


• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees, children, and the general public

This position must possess the following qualifications:

• High school or Middle school student, high school graduate, or G.E.D.
• Minimum age of 15 is required
• A valid work permit is required, if under the age 16
• Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
