ROLE We are seeking a Witness Management Clerk to support the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado (USAO-CO) in Denver, CO. In this role, you will provide fact witness management support, including coordinating travel, preparing reimbursement documentation, assisting with courtroom appearances, and delivering administrative and logistical services that ensure witnesses are supported throughout the judicial process.

RESPONSIBILITIES I. Witness Coordination
Provide witness management assistance prior to, during, and after trial
Work directly with fact witnesses to ensure appearance for court, pre-trial conferences, and grand jury
Initiate contact with fact witnesses regarding travel arrangements and appearance schedules
Determine special circumstances or needs of fact witnesses
Notify AUSA when special circumstances or needs require attention
Confer with AUSA concerning witness appearances and special authorizations
II. Travel & Logistics
Obtain information necessary to arrange witness travel and reimbursements
Complete documentation for special authorizations and secure prior approval for travel arrangements
Ensure travel documents and appearance schedules are provided to fact witnesses
Arrange travel and lodging for fact witnesses in accordance with DOJ and USAO policies
Gather required documentation and reconcile Government Travel Accounts
Prepare documentation for fact witness reimbursements including vouchers
Furnish requested information on pending and completed fact witness vouchers
Coordinate with the Court, Probation, Pretrial, U.S. Marshals Service, and investigative agencies
III. Courtroom Support
Meet with fact witnesses upon arrival to hearings or pre-trial conferences
Offer courtroom orientation and accompany fact witnesses to court
Secure safe waiting areas and collect documentation and signatures for reimbursements
IV. Administrative Duties
Complete recurring documents in conformance with applicable rules of style and format
Compose original correspondence requiring knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
Establish and maintain fact witness files, documents, and databases
Assemble materials for fact witness files in accordance with DOJ regulations
Maintain calendars or databases of active and pending fact witness appearances
Track hearings, trial dates, grand jury sessions, and scheduling conferences
Perform administrative and logistical duties related to fact witness management
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of USAO software or ability to learn quickly
Skill in word processing, data entry, database use, and document preparation
Skill in reviewing, analyzing, and reporting data with accuracy in computations
Skill in scheduling, responding to inquiries, and coordinating with other agencies
Ability to establish and maintain case/project files and status information
Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure
Strong organizational and communication skills
EDUCATION
High school diploma required
Undergraduate degree preferred
Paralegal certification preferred
