Job Description:  

Are you a successful Technical Customer Service Representative seeking a new career home? If so, then we want to talk to you! IVM Chemicals seeks an experienced Area Technical Service Representative to join the team in the Chicago, Illinois area. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and supporting technical trials, identifying customer needs, and providing tailored product recommendations. 

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in technical service and product support with experience in the manufacturing or coatings industries. This position will report to the Technical Director and collaborate with Technical Sales Managers. The role offers a strong compensation and benefits package. 

Responsibilities: The candidate must:

• Organize and conduct technical trials, demonstrations, and training while collaborating with Technical Sales Managers to provide comprehensive technical assistance to customers
  

• Anticipate, respond to, and follow up on all existing client needs
  

• Identify and address customers' technical needs by proposing tailored solutions and training their employees on proper product usage
  

• Assist Technical Sales Managers in the development of new products by gathering market intelligence and customer feedback to enhance the company's offerings
  

• Collaborate internally to identify and highlight new business opportunities, product developments and customer interactions
  

• Prepare periodic reports on technical service visits and analyze customer needs to propose effective solutions or new product developments
  

• Continuously enhance technical knowledge through training, industry events, and self-directed learning to remain informed about market trends and competitor activities 
  

• Effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimal supervision
  

• Display a positive, helpful attitude to help create a friendly environment for clients and co-workers
  

Requirements

Requirements:  The candidate will:

• Have 3 or more years of experience in technical service, product support, or a related role, ideally in the coatings or manufacturing industry 
  

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the engineering or chemistry concentrations, or comparable work experience
  

• Have the ability to travel up to 75% of the time, or as required to visit customers and support technical trials
  

• Possess outstanding organizational skills with an ability to manage and multiple complete difficult assignments without direct supervision
  

• Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, superior written and verbal communication skills
  

• Have excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset
  

• Thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player
  

• Have technology and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
