Note:
Candidates must have 2+ years of directly relevant experience in either workers' compensation or employment law, including PAGA matters where applicable. A Juris Doctor degree and active California Bar license are required, along with meaningful experience handling litigation matters such as depositions, court appearances, mediations, and motion practice.

Job Description
- Manage workers' compensation and employment-related matters from opening through resolution.
- Advise clients on legal strategy, risk, and recommended courses of action.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Draft and oppose motions, briefs, memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Review and analyze discovery and determine appropriate litigation strategy.
- Attend hearings, court appearances, mediations, conferences, and other proceedings.
- Prepare comprehensive trial briefs and supporting case materials.
- Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
- Facilitate expert and witness depositions.
- Research statutes, case law, regulations, and rulings and anticipate potential legal risks.
- Maintain organized case files and manage matters from opening through close.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and status.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal support professionals to provide responsive, high-quality representation.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of workers' compensation or employment law experience.
- Active California Bar license required.
- Juris Doctor degree required.
- Experience with employment litigation, PAGA, or workers' compensation matters.
- Significant experience taking and defending depositions preferred.
- Experience with motions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
- Strong legal research, writing, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage matters and competing deadlines.
- Excellent organization, judgment, communication, and attention to detail.
- Strong client relationship skills and professional ethics.
- Administrative or managerial experience preferred.
