The role SoFi is looking for a Workday Payroll Administrator to support the administration and maintenance of our Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence platforms across our global workforce. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll work closely with senior payroll team members, Finance, and IT to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for both domestic and international employees while learning and growing your expertise in global payroll operations.
The Workday Payroll Administrator supports the administration, ongoing maintenance, and functional support of the Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence platforms for SoFi's global operations. This role works under the guidance of senior team members to ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations while collaborating with payroll operations, finance, and cross-functional stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings foundational technical expertise in Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence configuration, understanding of end-to-end payroll processing including payroll tax withholdings, benefits and equity deductions, reporting, and familiarity with compliance controls. You will support system configuration initiatives, assist in troubleshooting payroll issues across multiple countries, and work with stakeholders to implement efficient solutions that support SoFi's growing domestic and international workforce.
What you’ll do:
Configure and maintain payroll deductions and withholdings including payroll tax withholdings, benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k), garnishments, and equity compensation (RSU vesting, tax withholdings, and sell-to-cover processing) for domestic and international employees
Support administration of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence modules for global operations, including system configuration, business process configuration, integration support, and bi-annual feature release testing
Assist with CloudPay global payroll platform maintenance and support integration with Workday Time & Absence for accurate time tracking, leave management, and multi-state and international payroll processing
Support SOX compliance including regular reporting, access reviews, audit trail documentation, and compliance with country-specific payroll requirements and statutory reporting
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll and time tracking system issues, partnering with global payroll operations and finance teams to test and implement system enhancements and process improvements
Provide end-user support, training, and documentation for payroll and time systems, ensuring employees and managers can effectively navigate Workday functionality
Collaborate with payroll leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and assist in designing new payroll features and configurations
What you’ll need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field with 3+ years of hands-on Workday administration experience in Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence modules
Strong Workday configuration experience including security, business processes, reporting, and demonstrated experience processing payroll tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and equity compensation (RSU vesting, tax withholdings, sell-to-cover transactions)
Solid experience with Workday Time Tracking and Absence configuration including time entry rules, absence plans, time off accruals, and integration with payroll
Exposure to global or multi-country payroll operations and multi-state payroll processing; experience with CloudPay or similar global payroll platforms preferred
Experienced in Workday Report Writer with ability to create custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards for payroll analysis and compliance
Familiarity in SOX compliance controls, audit processes, and documentation requirements for payroll
Experience with ticketing systems (JIRA, ServiceNow), Agile methodologies, payroll integrations, and third-party payroll vendors
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills with ability to prioritize competing demands, work across time zones, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Payroll, Finance, HR, and IT
