Job Description - Workers Compensation Specialist

We are actively seeking an Amazing Workers Compensation Specialist in the Columbus, OH area to join our award-WINNING team.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-4:00pm MUST be willing to be flexible as jobs may change



Position Responsibilities of the Workers Compensation Specialist:




  • Collect and analyze compensation data to ensure competitive pay practices within the organization.

  • Administer and manage employee compensation programs, including salary structures, bonuses, and incentives.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to FMLA, workers' compensation, and other relevant laws

  • Utilize systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Paylocity, Dayforce, and Lawson for data management and reporting

  • Assist in the development of job descriptions and salary grades for new positions or changes in existing roles.

  • Collaborate with HR team members to support contract negotiations and employee relations matters related to compensation.

  • Prepare reports for management that summarize findings from data analysis regarding compensation trends and practices





Requirements of the Workers Compensation Specialist:





  • Proven experience in a compensation role or related field is preferred.

  • Strong data collection and analysis skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with FMLA regulations and workers' compensation processes is a plus.

  • Proficient in using HRIS systems such as Paylocity

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.




Minimum Qualifications of the Construction Admin:




  • Administrative/Clerical Experience required

  • 5+ years Private Sector Workers Compensation Experience required

  • Microsoft Office Experience, specifically with Excel required

  • Must have a High School Degree or equivalent

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must adhere to company screenings 

  • Must have valid Driver’s License 


 


Physical Requirements




  • Must be able to adhere to large amounts of sitting

  • Must be able to speak English and hear to communicate
