Zurich is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Trial Attorney, this will be a remote role working anywhere in the Northern California area’s.

In this role, you will handle all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation, from initial evaluation through resolution. You will partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements, appear at hearings, and advocate for clients throughout the litigation process. Senior-level attorneys will also have opportunities to mentor colleagues and serve as technical resources on complex matters.

Basic Qualifications:

Trial Attorney:

• Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of litigation experience
  And


• Member in good standing of the California State Bar


• Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe


• Experience using Lexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research platforms


• Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedure,

Preferred Qualifications:

• Workers' Compensation defense experience


• Strong communication and negotiation skills


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities


• Ability to manage a caseload independently


• Experience working in a collaborative team environment


• Trial, hearing, mediation, and settlement experience


• For Senior Trial Attorney candidates: experience handling moderate to high-complexity matters, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter resource.

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location.  The proposed salary range for the Trial Attorney is $155,000.00 - $180,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
