Workforce Development Specialist Position Purpose

Responsible for developing and executing corporate and regional recruiting plans at Colleges, Technical Institutions, and High Schools. Specializes in workforce retention and career planning for Kirby Smith Machinery, Inc.

Workforce Development Specialists Essential Functions

• Communicates and supports Kirby Smith’s mission, vision, and core values


• Develops relationships regionally with educational and technical institutions to expand recruiting efforts into new regions


• Establishes industry accreditations in technical and educational institutions in new regions


• Strengthens relationships with leadership to identify needs in recruiting, retention, and career planning


• Develops potential career paths within Kirby-Smith in an added effort to recruit and retain


• Assists employees with developing a plan to achieve career path goals


• Collaborates with management to develop career paths for their teams


• Develops a Service and Technician Onboarding program that provides ongoing support and training


• Creates and maintains a playbook of retention best practices to implement, measure, and track


• Facilitates open communication through Stay Interviews and Exit Interviews


• Performs other job-related duties as assigned


• Consistent and reliable on-site attendance

Workforce Development Specialists Minimum Qualifications

• College degree in a related field or equivalent industry-related experience


• Excellent communication and presentation skills


• Adept at organizing, planning, communicating, and completing tasks to manage a high volume of work


• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications


• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet established deadlines

Workforce Development Specialists Physical Requirements

• Lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds without assistance


• The ability to drive locally and to sit for long periods
