Workforce Services Coordinator

Position Overview

KLEO Community Family Life Center (KLEO) is seeking an experienced and empathetic Workforce Services Coordinator to provide holistic support for participants across our diverse Workforce Development Programs. This consolidated role is responsible for ensuring both the personal stability and long-term career growth of equity-eligible residents, particularly those in the TradeUP and Rise UP initiatives. The Workforce Services Coordinator serves as the initial contact for participants, performing intensive intake assessments and managing stabilization services—such as barrier reduction for transportation and childcare—while providing continuing case management and job coaching for up to 180 days.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Intake & Holistic Assessment: Act as the initial contact person for participants, perform formal intake and conduct Wrap-Around Service Assessments to identify personal or social barriers.


• Individualized Success Planning: Develop comprehensive Individual Employment Plans (IEP) or Individualized Care Coordination Plans for a dedicated caseload of 20–25 participants.


• Stabilization & Barrier Removal: Establish and coordinate necessary social services, including transportation assistance, childcare referrals, housing, and mental health counseling.


• Intensive Case Management: Provide frequent, individualized follow-up and job coaching to ensure students remain successfully enrolled in intensive training pathways.


• External Referral Network: Source and maintain a network of outside social service providers to assist participants in crisis with emergency referral needs.


• Collaborative Intervention: Partner with the Workforce Support Specialist to adjust support plans if academic performance is affected by non-academic external factors.


• Employment Retention: Provide proactive long-term support for up to 90–180 days post-placement to ensure job retention and career stability.


• Performance of other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

·        Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.

• Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), or Professional Service Coordinator (PSC) preferred.

Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in state-funded workforce programs (e.g., WIOA or Illinois Works) preferred.


• Proven background in community organizing, recruitment for equity-focused populations, and conducting comprehensive social service assessments.

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on individualized participant attention.


• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate stabilizing services.


• Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills with meticulous attention to detail.


• Willing to travel to support program activities at various locations (Approximately 10%).
