This announcement is to retain a pool of qualified applicants for Workforce Trainers. Submission of an application and our acceptance thereof does not indicate that there are positions open, and in no way obligates Northwest Mississippi Community College.


Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Workforce Solutions and Career-Technical Education Division is looking for a pool of part-time Workforce Trainer(s) to teach one or more subject areas.  These are part-time instructional positions, and work assignments are scheduled based on employer and workforce demand. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary throughout the year and, at times, contingent upon project funding approval through the state workforce office, AccelerateMS when applicable.


Note:  The following positions are not intended to be an all-inclusive trainer pool list.  Applicants with expertise in other occupational, technical, safety, or professional development areas are encouraged to apply for consideration.

 


Forklift Trainer


Job Description

Deliver forklift operator training and evaluations for business and industry partners throughout the college's 11-county service district. Training will be conducted on-site at manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and industrial facilities or at any one of our NWCC Campuses, where forklift training is available. 


Responsibilities



  • Deliver OSHA-compliant forklift operator training, including classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and operator evaluations for various powered industrial trucks.

  • Instruct participants on safe forklift operation in manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environments in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.178.

  • Evaluate operator competency and maintain accurate training records, attendance, and required documentation.

  • Promote workplace safety and OSHA compliance throughout all training activities.

  • Travel to employer locations throughout NWCC's 11-county service district to conduct training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical Education


 


ServSafe Trainer


Job Description

Ability to deliver food safety training and certification preparation for individuals and employers. Training may be provided at NWCC campuses or employer locations throughout the college's 11-county service district.


Responsibilities



  • Deliver ServSafe food safety instruction.

  • Prepare participants for ServSafe certification exams.

  • Maintain accurate training records.

  • Ensure compliance with ServSafe standards.

  • Promote safe food handling practices.

  • Travel to training locations as needed.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical Education.


 


Leadership Trainer


Job Description

Ability to facilitate professional development programs that strengthen leadership, communication, teamwork, and workplace effectiveness for business and industry partners.


Responsibilities



  • Deliver leadership and professional development training.

  • Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and activities.

  • Adapt instruction to meet employer needs.

  • Evaluate participant learning and engagement.

  • Maintain training documentation.

  • Travel throughout the service district as needed.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical Education


 


Welding Trainer


Job Description

Provide hands-on welding instruction for workforce development programs serving business, industry, and the community.


Responsibilities



  • Deliver classroom and hands-on welding instruction.

  • Demonstrate proper welding techniques and safety.

  • Monitor participant progress and skill development.

  • Ensure safe operation of welding equipment.

  • Maintain training records and documentation.

  • Travel to training sites as required.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical Education.


CPR/First Aid Trainer


Job Description

Provide nationally recognized CPR, AED, and First Aid instruction for employers, community organizations, and individuals.


Responsibilities



  • Deliver CPR, AED, and First Aid training.

  • Conduct hands-on skills evaluations.

  • Prepare participants for certification.

  • Maintain required training documentation.

  • Reinforce emergency response best practices.

  • Travel to employer and community training sites.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical Education


 


Advanced Manufacturing Trainer


Job Description

Ability to deliver technical workforce training for manufacturing and industrial employers. Candidates should possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: precision manufacturing, industrial automation, industrial electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).


Responsibilities



  • Deliver technical instruction in one or more advanced manufacturing disciplines.

  • Provide hands-on laboratory and equipment training.

  • Promote safe operating procedures and industry best practices.

  • Evaluate participant performance and skill development.

  • Maintain accurate training and assessment records.

  • Travel throughout NWCC's 11-county service district to conduct training.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and Career Technical Education
