SHIFT

BRI - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW  

The Team Lead ensures the day to day operations of his/her assigned area and shift, directing the work and providing assistance to team members to ensure the correct processes are being followed at all times. He/She supports operations as subject matter expert and participates in coaching, training, and developing employees. The Team Leads assists and guides his/her team; however, he/she does not manage the individual members of the team. The Team Lead, Operations oversees a more diverse area of operation, requiring that more of his/her time be spent overseeing the work rather than participating in production.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Work with team members to ensure daily production targets are met. 

  • Count / Review WIP daily. 

  • Align labor to maximize machine and operator utilization; Work with other area leaders and supervisors to move employees based on business needs.    

  • Cover operations for absenteeism as required. 

  • Add additional help at bottleneck operations when needed. 

  • Provide the first level of escalation as problems occur. Follow troubleshooting / escalation process.  

  • Submit work orders for down machines. 

  • Submit tech requests for machine issues. 

  • Work with Manufacturing technicians to get supplies ordered.  

  • Coach team, keep team engaged in daily production. 

  • Lead the daily huddle meeting on Safety, Quality, Production, Cost and People 

Work with team members to ensure company standards are maintained. 

  • Make sure gage calibrations are all up to date and turned in when due.  

  • Ensure daily / Weekly / Monthly Preventive Maintenance tasks are complete on time 

  • Perform Monthly Safety Audits  

  • Perform Weekly 6S Audits.  

  • Review and approve standard work / work instruction changes. 

  • Ensure team member compliance wire assignments are complete on time. 

Coordinate Quality & Rework 

  • Align with Quality / Inspection on Questions regarding print specifications. 

  • Organize sorts for NCMRs. 

  •  Work with Inspection for Documentation Errors, and questions about parts 

Lead Shift to Shift Communications 

  • Complete end of shift report. 

  • Communicate any production issues with opposing shift supervisor and team leader. 

  • Communicate any potential safety concerns to opposing shift. 

  • Communicate any potential quality concerns to opposing shift. 

Work with cross functional teams to ensure on time delivery of customer requirements. 

  • Line up work at work centers and shelves based on business priorities. 

  • Communicate with scheduling when material or other issues arise.  Help trouble shoot problems. 

  • Push hot jobs through the process as necessary. 

Work with cross functional teams to continually improve safety, quality, and delivery. 

  • Contribute to problem solving teams working on quality or productivity issues.  

  • Work with Tech’s to improve processes. 

  • Fills out ECR’s to improve process. 

  • Participate in kaizen events. 

Hiring and Training 

  • Supports training / OJT's for new people in area 

  • Provide feedback on new employee performance to supervisors for 30, 60, & 90 day reviews 

Additional Leadership Responsibilities 

  • Participate in leadership classes. 

  • Complete miscellaneous tasks for supervisors. 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Or Equivalent (Required) 

  • Associates of Arts (A.A) (Preferred) 

  • Associates of Science (A.S) (Preferred) 

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3+ Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (Required) 

  • 2+ Years of Experience in Leadership (Preferred) 

  • Experience Leading a Small Group or Project Team (Preferred) 

  • Experience in the processes in the work area (Preferred) 

  • Experience as a Trainer (Preferred)
