What You’ll Lead

As a Working Shop Foreman at Phil Long KIA, you’ll keep the service shop running efficiently while protecting repair quality and customer satisfaction. You’ll recruit, hire, coach, and review technicians; balance and assign work fairly; and provide hands-on technical support when needed. You’ll ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, manufacturer warranty policies, and required training. You’ll track performance through DOC, productivity/efficiency controls, comeback and warranty reports, forecasts, and survey results, while verifying accurate charge-outs and complete documentation.

Required qualifications:
- 4–10 years of related experience (or equivalent)
- ASE Certifications and manufacturer training
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication, math, and problem-solving skills

A Typical Shift

You start by scanning the day’s repair flow and checking on open RO status, then touch base with advisors and the dispatcher to keep the schedule on track. Between quick check-ins with techs, you review productivity numbers, spot trends in comebacks or warranty activity, and make small adjustments to keep momentum. You’ll step into road tests or quick quality checks as vehicles wrap, and you’ll close the loop with customers when follow-up or a fast resolution is needed. The day ends with a cleaner, safer shop, updated reports, and a clear plan for tomorrow.
