Job Description - Workplace Ops Manager

We’re looking for a Workplace Ops Manager to be the heart of our San Francisco office—you’ll keep the office running smoothly, partner with global teams to deliver memorable events, and provide support to our GTM leaders. This is a great role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys variety in their day-to-day, and wants to shape the employee experience at a growing company. You’ll own the day-to-day operations of our San Francisco office and work on a blend of office management, event planning, exec support and culture-building.


What you’ll do


Office Operations



  • Keep the office running smoothly: order supplies, purchase and stock snacks, manage any lunch orders, and maintain general upkeep and tidiness of the space.

  • Act as the first point of contact for any office or building needs, liaising with property management, vendors, and building engineers.

  • Support new hire desk setups, tech coordination, and seating plans.

  • Welcome visitors and new hires; serve as a friendly, helpful onsite presence.

  • Troubleshoot IT issues by submitting support tickets and coordinating on-site help as needed.


Employee Experience & Culture



  • Working in coordination with our Workplace ops team in Sydney, create and lead in-office employee events such as pop-ups, happy hours, employee engagement events, and celebrations (recognition days, birthdays, anniversaries, milestones).

  • Support onboarding experiences for new hires, including welcome lunches and swag setup.

  • Bring creativity and energy to office life, helping foster a fun and collaborative culture.

  • Research new vendors and brainstorm new experiences that surprise and delight.


Budget & Data Tracking



  • Maintain accurate budget tracking across all People programs, events, and purchases and complete monthly expense reports/reconciliations.

  • Track participation, engagement, and sentiment across events, surfacing actionable insights to inform future planning.

  • Innovate new ways to gather program feedback and measure impact.


Exec & GTM Support



  • Provide light-weight calendar support for leaders in SF as needed

  • Own travel booking for the GTM teams

  • Partner with our Global Events Lead to plan and execute larger company-wide events for the Dovetail customer community including design, logistics, and communications.


Your background



  • Experience in office management, workplace operations, or hospitality/event coordination.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail—you notice when the fridge needs restocking or the coffee machine needs cleaning.

  • A strong sense of accountability and comfort with self-starting/working autonomously.

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for designing events and cultural moments.

  • Comfort juggling multiple priorities and switching between hands-on tasks and event planning.

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills; you enjoy being a connector and point person.
