Wrestling Head Coach

Fork Union Military Academy, an all-boys boarding school located in the beautiful central Virginia region near Charlottesville, Richmond, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, is seeking a dedicated, professional, Wrestling Head Coach

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:

• Manage all aspects of the Wrestling program from recruiting through college placement.


• Provide knowledge and skills, techniques, teamwork, and game strategy.


• Manage and direct scouting, recruiting, conditioning, videoing, training, and practice as directed.


• Support the Athletic Department in scheduling of games per the Athletic Directors requirements.


• Be responsible for organization, distribution and care of equipment and apparel.


• Communicate with families from the initial application process through placement and completion of the program.


• Create a competitive environment and positive atmosphere for student athletes on and off the field/court.


• Support barracks supervision and provide a positive role model in the military bearing.


• Provide academic support for athletes and program promotion. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Academic Dean.


• Other duties as assigned in addition to Coaching responsibilities.

Special Tasks: MFSAB (Minibus) VA state certification

Off-season weekend duties

Nighttime OC duties

Weight-room supervision

Concussion certification

CPR

Other professional development as offered by the Academy (i.e Youth Mental Health training)

Work Schedule: On a normal day the hours are from no later than 8:30am until 4:30pm. These hours can change because of athletic practices, contests on weekends and during evening hours. Present at all Wrestling related events, practices and responsible for locker room supervision. Will coordinate with and support the Commandant's Department regarding Wrestlers behavioral performance. Will serve on the academy duty roster. The athletic staff, including the Director, should be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Educational Requirements: Minimum of a bachelor's degree
