Writer/Editor, Senior - Opportunity to Make a Difference

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Copy Writer/Editor, Senior to join our team, supporting the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). The primary responsibility of this role is to write, proofread, and edit content and copy for a variety of marketing materials.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strategic messaging and generate original copy based on messages to appeal to the client's target audiences.
• Meet with the client and/or account manager to discuss the client's business objectives, market position, target audiences, and products and services.
• Brainstorm creative concepts with other members of the creative team.
• Ensure all marketing materials comply with the company's branding guidelines.

The position operates on a hybrid work schedule, requiring on-site presence for five days each pay cycle at the VBA Central Office - 1800 G St NW, Washington, DC 20006.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in related field
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative team.
• Experience with SEO and digital marketing strategies.

Eligibility:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000.
