X-Ray Inspector

JOB TITLE: X-RAY Inspector 

DEPARTMENT:

REPORTING TO: Quality Manager 

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION: 

The X-Ray Inspector performs inspection with the use of an enclosed x-ray machine to verify the integrity of the hidden solder connection according to a pre-specified industry standard and documented special instructions. They identify and report any quality issues that are found on the unit for rework by a qualified rework personnel.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

• Review product specific and customer specific documented.

• Perform X-Ray Inspect of product to IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 or other specified industry standards.

• Identify and report (log) any defects found during inspection process.

• Communicate recurring problems to the Process Engineering, Assembly Engineering, Quality Specialist and/or Quality Manager.

• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· This position will work in both front and shop environments.

· In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area. 

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· 3 years of experience as a quality inspector and/or X-Ray inspection of electronic circuits.

· Must pass and maintain CIT certification for IPC-A-610 standard.

· Basic understanding of IPC-A-600 standard.

· Able to read, write, and interpret the English language.

· Works well in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight. 

· You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
