X-Ray Technician

The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. This role ensures high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established protocols
   
• Position patients correctly to obtain accurate and high-quality images
   
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns
   
• Ensure radiation safety by following ALARA principles and proper shielding techniques
   
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment; report malfunctions as needed
   
• Review images for technical quality and accuracy prior to submission
   
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the medical record system
   
• Comply with all federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HIPAA
   
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
   
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
   
• Current ARRT certification required
   
• Active state radiologic technologist license (as applicable)
   
• BLS/CPR certification required
   
• Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety
   
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior clinical experience in a healthcare or outpatient setting
   
• Experience with digital radiography (DR) systems
   
• Familiarity with EHR and PACS systems
   

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
   
• Ability to lift, move, and position patients and equipment
   
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to operate imaging equipment
   

Work Environment

• Clinical or outpatient healthcare setting
   
• May require evenings, weekends, or on-call coverage depending on operational needs
