Reports To: Political & Organizing Manager
Full-Time Salary Band: $56,000 – $59,000 per year
Location: Flex/Remote and In-Person in Yakima Office
Application Deadline: Sunday, June 22, 2025, by 11:59 PM

BACKGROUND

OneAmerica (OA) was established in 2001 by U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal and has since grown to become a locally and nationally recognized leader in advancing immigrant, civil, and human rights. We utilize grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, and civic/electoral engagement to promote justice in three areas: immigration, education and early learning, and democracy. Our family of organizations consists of OneAmerica (501(c)3), OneAmerica Votes (501(c)4), and OneAmerica Votes Justice Fund (PAC).

POSITION DESCRIPTION

OneAmerica and our family of organizations strive to recruit immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers into the organization to grow as leaders in their communities and organize others to make Washington State a Thriving Home for immigrants.

Regional organizers are responsible for developing and managing a regional chapter of OneAmerica (OA) and OneAmerica Votes (OAV) in the county/region the organizer is assigned. This requires organizers to build and cultivate deep, self-interested relationships with immigrants who want to make changes to the government and electoral systems that keep us from thriving. Regional organizers will be responsible for developing a core team of directly impacted community leaders through canvassing, organizing local events with the base, and holding monthly chapter meetings.

Applicants interested in this position will have an exciting opportunity to lead the strategy, implementation, and execution of an organizing plan for Yakima County and the region on behalf of OneAmerica and its partners. This ideal candidate will bring a strong racial justice and power analysis lens to this work using their relational leadership skills to build trust while also challenging others to grow into their power. This position is based in Yakima, WA with some travel to Seattle, Olympia, or other areas in the state.
