Yard Attendant/Boat Detailer

Boater's World Marine Centers is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Yard Attendant / Boat Detailer to join our team in Islamorada, FL. This position is key to supporting daily operations by maintaining the dealership’s outdoor facilities and ensuring all boats are cleaned and presented at the highest standard for our customers. 

Driving & Boat Handling:

• Drive company vehicles to transport boats, trailers, and marine equipment within the dealership and occasionally to off-site locations.
• Safely launch, load, move, and store boats of various sizes with proper handling and care.

Boat Detailing:

• Thoroughly clean and detail both the exterior and interior of boats, including washing, waxing, vacuuming, and polishing.
• Remove water spots, oxidation, and stains using appropriate marine-safe chemicals and equipment.
• Prepare boats for display, customer pickup, and service delivery by ensuring they are clean and showroom ready.
• Report any cosmetic issues or damages noticed during the cleaning process to the Service Manager.

Yard Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and organized yard, including sweeping, debris removal, and general upkeep of the facility grounds.
• Assist in moving boats and trailers within the yard to maintain optimal layout and safety.

Customer Support:

• Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers with boat pickups, drop-offs, and basic inquiries.
• Assist with loading and unloading boats or equipment as needed.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

• Help track and monitor inventory of boats and marine accessories stored in the yard.
• Operate and maintain yard equipment such as forklifts, pressure washers, trailers, and tractors safely and responsibly.

Collaboration & Safety:

• Work alongside service technicians to move boats and assist in service-related tasks when required.
• Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.

Facility Appearance:

• Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of dealership grounds, parking lots, and walkways.

Additional Duties:

• Perform other duties as assigned by management; this job description does not encompass all job functions and responsibilities of the position.

• This position requires a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with boat handling techniques is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience trailering and transporting boats. 
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
