Yard Expediter

Powder Coating Systems, an independently owned provider of Sandblasting and Powder Coating services in Tacoma Washington, is currently seeking to hire an experienced Yard Expediter. This specialty position is a part of our Office team. This position is full-time, forty hours a week, Monday through Friday. The shift for this position is 8AM to 4:30PM. 

This position is responsible for: 

-ensuring the yard is open on time daily. 

-loading and unloading jobs for customers. 

-helping our office staff by measuring out and inventorying jobs when necessary. 

-keeping the yard organized and clean. 

-assisting in the shop with production when caught up. 

-ensuring all jobs are tagged both incoming and outgoing. 

-closing the yard at the end of their shift every day. 

-other duties as assigned by Management.

This is a physical position. Candidates must be able to lift fifty pounds repetitively as well and constantly stand and bend. This position requires previous experience operating a sit-down forklift as well as good customer service skills in the yard. This position operates in all weather conditions. 

This position starts at $22-25 per hour depending on experience. After ninety days, employees are eligible for Paid Time Off which accrues from the first day worked. They are also eligible to earn a Sales Based Production Bonus  which is paid quarterly if earned. They also can receive six paid holidays a year. 

The following are the mandatory requirements for this position: 

-One year experience operating a sit-down forklift. 

-Current, legal driver's license. (Requirement for forklift certification for our company)

-Reliable transportation to commute to our shop in Tacoma daily. 

-Must be able to speak, write and understand English. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. 

-Legal documentation to complete an I-9 form that establishes identity and the right to work in the United States. (Must be original documents. We cannot legally accept copies for the I-9)

-The ability to lift fifty pounds repetitively. 

The following are not mandatory requirements, but would be helpful for this position: 

-Previous experience working in a yard setting. 

-Previous metal experience. 

-Knowledge of how to measure for square and linear footage.
