Yard Jockey

Description

The Yard Jockey operates yard mules to move trailers to designated loading/unloading sites as directed. (Up to 30 moves per shift) This position will work the 1st shift (2am-10am) Monday through Friday. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Moves trailer to designated unloading doors, loading doors, and full trucks from Plant and to compound.
• Driver is required to have CDL because he drives on roads to compound.
• Responsible for keeping the Daily Trailer logs.
• Spots and switches trailer as directed.
• Pre-Cooling Trailers before Load Out and checking Trailer temperatures and Fuel Levels.
• Supports tank receiving by backing in and pulling out tankers as needed.
• Cleans, washes, fuels trailers; and inspects for damages.
• Services switcher tractor by checking and replenishing liquid levels and draining air tanks.
• Daily DVIR’s Each Day and Shift.
• Keep Spotter Clean.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years CDL/Yard driving experience
• Clean Driving record 
• Must be able to work early 1st shift hours (2am-10am)
• Some Weekend availability
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug test
• Ability to accurately record data.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Class A CDL
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
