A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is looking for a proactive and reliable Yard Operations Assistant to join our Pueblo, CO location. We’ve been a trusted leader in the railroad materials industry for over 65 years, and as we continue to grow, we’re looking for someone who is motivated, team-oriented, and ready to take ownership of their role. This position is 100% onsite and operates Monday through Friday, 6AM to 2:30PM in the summer to beat the heat, and 7AM to 3:30PM the rest of the year. 

As a Yard Operations Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Yard Manager to ensure the administrative side of our yard operations runs efficiently. Your responsibilities will include tracking inventory, organizing documents, handling communication with internal and external partners, and supporting logistics coordination. While this is primarily an office-based role, we’re seeking someone who is open to learning yard operations and stepping outside when needed—especially during slower administrative periods. A willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in wherever necessary is highly valued.  

The ideal candidate will have previous administrative experience in a fast-paced setting and demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. If you’re someone who thrives with little supervision, wants to grow with a company, and is ready to learn new aspects of yard operations, this is the role for you. Prior experience is a plus, but more importantly, we’re looking for the right attitude and a desire to contribute.

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage time independently and juggle multiple priorities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A self-starter mentality with the flexibility to help in the yard as needed
