Young Adult Coordinator

Job Description - Young Adult Coordinator

Young Adult Coordinator

Part-Time (11 hours/week)

Reports to: Central Pastor

Job Summary:

The Young Adult Ministry Coordinator provides vision, leadership, and administrative direction for the 18–25 demographic at Central Church. This role focuses on executing monthly large-group worship nights, bridging young adults to Flourish Training, and providing pathways for intergenerational connection that help young adults discover their Kingdom calling. Strategically, this includes building a thriving Daymaker (volunteer) team of leaders, synchronizing rites of passage, staff support structures, and promotion across relevant channels of communication. The YA Coordinator helps shepherd young adults (in tandem with the pastoral team) and oversees the day-to-day function of ministry within the context of Central’s mission, vision, and ministry operating system.

Supervisory Role:

While the YA Coordinator doesn’t oversee any staff members, it is expected that they will develop, coordinate, and lead a volunteer leadership team for the Young Adult ministry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Worship Gatherings: Lead worship with a scheduled, well-rehearsed, and prayed-up team. Direct the creative, logistical, and technical execution of monthly young adult gatherings (worship, teaching, hospitality, and after-hangouts).

  • Leadership Development: Build, train, and mentor a core team of volunteer leaders to run hospitality, production, community groups, and creative elements.

  • Kingdom Calling & Connection: Engage pathways to integrate college students and young professionals into the broader church body, Flourish Training, and local outreach opportunities.

  • Community Engagement: Maintain an active digital and personal presence to connect with young adults across the Central campus and the local community.

  • Administrative Stewardship: Engage Waters Edge systems (budget, scheduling, communication), and management of YA annual budget.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in youth, college, or young adult ministry in a mid-to-large church environment.

  • Strong relational intelligence and ability to connect culturally with Gen Z/young adults.

  • Proven track record of recruiting, equipping, and empowering volunteer teams.

  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and time-management skills to maximize a part-time schedule.

  • A vibrant relationship with Jesus that provides the soul-mass needed for ministry and helping young adults flourish in their Kingdom calling, as one cannot lead others to something they don’t personally experience.
