Young Adult Ministry Leader

The position of Young Adult Ministry Leader is responsible for identifying, equipping, and deploying leaders to support the operations of the Young Adult Ministry. In addition, the person in this role must plan and oversee the health of the Young Adult Ministry to align with the overall vision of Abundant Life.

Personal Responsibilities

• Be committed to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 2:2) by assembling for instruction in God’s Word and engaging in the personal study of God’s Word. 
• Responsibly use the resources at your disposal to foster the mission and vision of Abundant Life (1 Peter 5:1-4).
• Participate in an Abundant Life group (Acts 2:41-42) as well as the discipleship ministry (Matthew 28:18-20).
• Live in a way that glorifies God and aligns with the staff core values (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
• Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-7 & 9:12).
• Become a member of Abundant Life.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

General

• Identify and recruit leaders to oversee individual areas of the ministry.
• Lead two groups of future leaders at Paradigm yearly.
• Ability to teach and eagerness to grow in this area.
• Work with the Young Adult Pastor to receive and communicate vision for the entire Young Adult department.
• Attend regular staff meetings.
• Plan and facilitate bi-annual team leader retreats.
• Help handle supervision with the volunteers and leaders, including corrective actions, conflict resolution, discipline, and termination from service if needed.
• Help design and comply with the budget of the Young Adult Ministry as a whole.
• Help design and implement training material on a quarterly basis, involving upkeep of key leader job descriptions.
• Utilize discretion and confidentiality in the dissemination of information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Paradigm Ministry (Tuesday nights) 

• Provide constructive feedback and direction at Young Adult message run-throughs. 
• Collaborate with the Young Adult team regarding Paradigm as it relates to over-arching ministry goals.
• Advance and attend all Tuesday night Paradigm events.
• Oversee the vision and direction of Unashamed.

Leadership Summit

• Design and participate in yearly Leadership Summit training for volunteers and leaders across church-wide ministries.
• Participate in the planning and execution of leadership appreciation events.

Skills

Excellent communication skills are required. Success in this role will be achieved by a highly motivated, task-oriented leader of leaders, who is able to encourage and inspire volunteers through the placement process. A high level of organization is required to oversee the execution of all events that the Young Adult ministry hosts throughout the year. Must exhibit a commitment to honoring the Lord in work and life, as well as upholding the Abundant Life Staff Core Values (available upon request). Experience 

• A college degree is preferred.
• Three years of experience in a leadership position.
