Description

Mission: The Link works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. Our 23 programs provide supportive housing, intensive case management services, and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system. The Link prides itself on its innovative, youth-centered, strengths-based programming for youth and families as well as programs that are co-designed, implemented and overseen by youth.

Position Specifics

  • Hiring Salary Range: $$63,270-$73,530/hour based on qualifications 
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Location: Minneapolis, MN
  • Hours/Days: Mon-Fri, 9:00-5:00
  • Note: This position requires driving. To be able to drive on behalf of The Link, candidates must have a valid driver's license, have a safe and reliable vehicle, be able to successfully clear a criminal and motor vehicle background check, and maintain personal insurance at the levels of $100,000 Bodily Injury/Per Person and $300,000 Bodily Injury/Per Accident. Job offer is contingent on having these requirements. 

BASIC FUNCTION

This position is responsible for the overall staff and program management of The Link’s Young Families Program. The Link’s Young Families Program is a supportive housing program for young people aged 18-24 and their children who have experienced homelessness and who may have other barriers to housing. The Program Manager ensures efficient operation of programming that is consistent with The Link’s mission, goals, and objectives and funding compliance.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and manage the staffing and program requirements of The Link’s Young Families Program 
  • Participate in the management and program operations of the rapid rehousing (HUD) and GRH program compliance 
  • Provide oversight and supervision to case management staff to support goal progress and client participation and engagement 
  • Provide oversight and supervision to the Young Families Case Managers and families assessments and programming meets funding and agency goals 
  • Support and provide training to staff on various models of service implementation in a scattered site setting, including Positive Youth Development, RRH, harm reduction, trauma informed care, etc. 
  • Ensure program is in compliance with funding requirements  
  • Writes reports and compiles statistics for funders and other key stakeholders in a complete, accurate, and timely manner 
  • Assess, researches, and implements program improvement and expansion 
  • Ensures that the program operates within budget guidelines 
  • Maintains a work environment that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse workforce of top quality people 
  • Creates and maintains community relations appropriate to the fulfillment of agency priorities and objectives 
  • Develops collaborations and referral process for services beyond the scope of The Link 
  • Arranges and participates in speaking engagements 
  • Participates in committees as appointed internally and in the community

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of community resources for pregnant, or parenting young people 
  • Desire to continuously learn for personal and professional growth 
  • High level of personal and professional integrity, including ability to protect and maintain confidentiality 
  • Ability to work effectively with and relate to diverse populations 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and writing 
  • Professional demeanor 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize, coordinate, track and complete multiple tasks as well as adjust to changing priorities 
  • Computer application proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems 
  • Experience with office equipment, such as photocopier, fax, scanner etc 
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check 
  • Schedule is based on program needs and will require some evening hours 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA degree in related field or 4 years of experience working with young families who have experienced homelessness or housing instability 
  • Experience working with young families who have barriers to housing and stability 
  • Experience in early childhood programming and services for at-risk or vulnerable populations 
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and county policies that impact low/no income families 
  • Case Management planning oversight and supervision 
  • HMIS  
  • Experience with HUD grant management preferred 
  • Experience with Supportive Housing Services (GRH) preferred 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • The employee is frequently required to use manual dexterity for use of objects, tools or controls as well as visual acuity
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Work environment for this position includes offices, common and residential space with a low to high noise level
  • Ability to work a variable schedule (including some evenings, overnights and weekends) as needed
  • Requires ability to drive and access to a reliable personal vehicle
