POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Youth & Family Coordinator at Two Rivers YMCA provides leadership and operational support for Youth & Family programs focusing on the Y-Winners junior high afterschool program at the Moline-East Moline YMCA Branch by supervising staff, supporting program delivery, ensuring safe and engaging environments for participants, and helping expand and strengthen YMCA programs within the community.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid certifications for infant, child, and adult populations, Bloodborne Pathogen Training, Child Abuse Prevention Training, and any additional certifications or trainings required by YMCA youth programming standards. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and valid car insurance. Certifications must remain current throughout employment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for supporting the successful operation of Youth & Family programs by supervising staff, volunteers, and program participants, ensuring safe program environments, maintaining high-quality participant experiences, and supporting program growth and engagement. Serves as the primary first responder in the event of an emergency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. This may include exposure to active indoor and outdoor youth program environments with varying noise levels and frequent interaction with children and families.
Work requires frequent movement throughout program spaces and the ability to respond quickly to changing participant and operational needs in a fast-paced environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, kneel, and engage in youth program activities. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
The position requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the environment is typically moderate to louse.
