To serve C3 by providing leadership and oversight of the student ministry volunteers and students under your pastoral care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a clear vision for youth and young adult ministry aligned with C3’s mission.
Create an engaging and welcoming environment where students can grow in their faith.
Foster an atmosphere of fun, worship, discipleship, and service.
Partner with parents to equip and support them in the spiritual development of their students.
Plan and lead weekly youth services, Bible studies, and small groups for both junior high and high school students.
Preach and teach biblically sound, relevant messages that engage students.
Develop and oversee a discipleship program that encourages spiritual growth and leadership among students.
Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and guidance to students.
Recruit, train, and equip a strong team of volunteer leaders and mentors.
Empower and develop student leaders to take ownership in ministry areas.
Provide ongoing leadership training and spiritual development for volunteers.
Plan and lead youth retreats, mission trips, camps, and special events.
Organize community service projects and outreach initiatives that engage students in sharing their faith.
Foster relationships with local schools and community organizations to support outreach efforts.
Manage the youth ministry budget and resources effectively.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and volunteers.
Utilize social media and other digital platforms to engage and inform students and families.
Ensure a safe and structured environment by implementing and overseeing church policies regarding youth ministry.
Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of C3.
Attend any department meetings, regular all-staff meetings, and other meetings as required.
Utilize a thorough understanding of C3 employee policies and procedures.
Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of C3.
Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach scripture in a relevant, engaging way.
Ability to relate to and connect with students while maintaining pastoral authority.
Positive attitude with strong hospitality and leadership skills.
Proven, effective leadership experience.
Efficient, with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
Proactive in process improvement and maintaining confidentiality.
Professional, spiritually mature, and comfortable interacting with diverse groups.
Able to analyze complex, technical situations and develop solutions.
Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions.
Strong computer skills, including familiarity and experience with a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with church management software a plus.
Strong organizational and office skills.
Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively and professionally at all levels.
Able to work under pressure.
Maintain the confidentially of sensitive information.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of experience in youth ministry leadership, preferably in a large church setting.
Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
