We’re looking for a creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented Youth Collections Librarian who is energized by the challenge of connecting kids and families with books through compelling, patron-centered experiences. In this role, you’ll shape and maintain a vibrant collection for children and families while helping connect our community to books, media, and technology that inspire and empower. Position Highlights
· Select, maintain, and promote engaging materials for children and families
· Analyze collection data and circulation statistics to inform purchasing decisions
· Collaborate on inclusive collection development that reflects diverse voices
· Assist with readers’ advisory and technology help
· Contribute content, including but not limited to themed reading lists, for library newsletters, social media, and the website
· Stay current on youth literature, library trends, and best practices
· Engage in continuing education and team projects

The pay range for this position is $53,676 to $56,000 annually depending on qualifications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Building, managing, and maintaining Youth Collections
· Displays initiative, creativity, and a collaborative spirit
· Actively promotes library resources, programs, and services to children and their families
· Contributes content, including but not limited to themed reading lists, for library newsletters, social media, and the website
· Maintains an awareness and understanding of current policies and procedures and displays proficiencies in all functions within the department
· May participate in networking groups, local conferences, and workshops
· Develops and maintains position-relevant technology skills
· May participate in library-wide workgroups
· Participates in relevant training, continuing education and/or professional development
· Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Qualifications
· Master of Library and Information Science degree from an ALA accredited school.
· Familiarity with youth literature highly desired
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain and foster cooperative, courteous working relationships with a multicultural/multigenerational staff and patron population
· Knowledge of products, services, and current trends and issues in library practices relevant to youth
· Knowledge of and interest in media, fiction, and nonfiction materials for youth
· Successfully handles multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
· Can listen, analyze, problem solve, and exercise good judgment when handling both routine and non-routine issues
· Works independently and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines
· Adaptable to changes in existing practices, library routines, and workflows
· Can operate a personal computer; has knowledge of ILS software, email, Windows, Excel, and basic word processing functions
· Ability to learn, assist others, and perform basic troubleshooting on a variety of library technologies
· Available to work evenings and weekends as needed
