Educational Requirements: College degree, or HS Diploma/GED plus some college education preferred.
Experience Requirements: at least three years
Salary Range: $48,880 – 50,960/year, depending on experience, paid hourly ($23.50-24.50/hr)
Language Requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish

Hacienda CDC, a trusted community development corporation that strengthens individuals and families through affordable housing, holistic services, and advocacy, is searching for a dedicated Youth Engagement Coordinator to put their passion for community building to good use as they work to empower youth and families.

Your primary tasks will include actively recruiting youth into and conducting after-school and summer programming, ensuring participants meet high school graduation requirements, leading monthly parent and skill-building classes, and more.

This position's primary responsibilities include:
  • Recruit youth living at Hacienda housing sites and neighboring communities into programming.
  • Conduct daily after-school and summer programming.
  • Lead monthly in-person parent meetings and skill-building classes.
  • Create and manage partner relationships to develop events, activities, and on-site classes.
  • Connect youth caregivers to resources to support them in gaining a full understanding of the U.S. school system.
  • Make resource connections for youth caregivers and collaborate across programs and cross-departmentally.
  • Administer yearly program evaluation assessments and actively participate in program planning.
  • Utilize databases and forms to submit data in a timely manner in order to meet contract compliance.
  • Adhere to state mandatory reporting requirements.

Our ideal candidate must have:
  • A minimum of three years of experience in community organizing social services, education or similar fields (paid or volunteer)
  • At least a high school diploma or GED
  • The ability to read, write, or speak Spanish.
  • Highly skilled at listening, developing rapport, and working cooperatively, creatively, and patiently with team members and the program manager.
  • The ability to remain self-motivated and energetic, think creatively, and be resourceful.
  • A joy for working with diverse populations and a solid commitment to DEIA concepts.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to take initiative, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change.
  • A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including afternoon/evening work and on weekends at least once per month.

It would be great if you also have:
  • Some college coursework or an associate or bachelor’s degree in community organizing, social work, education, or similar fields.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care, popular education, and community outreach methods that support youth engagement.
  • Knowledge of local resources in order to support the unique needs of our communities.
  • CPR Certification
