is looking for a qualified Youth Partner to join our WISe team in downtown Tacoma, Washington.

Function : A formal member of the WISe team whose role is to partner with foster youth to help support engagement and active participation in making informed decisions to drive the WISe process.

Responsibilities :
Serve as peer advocates to help empower youth in gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to guide and eventually drive their own treatment.
Work in collaboration with the WISe practitioners.
Ability to ensure each youth is heard and their individual needs are being addressed and met.
Communicates and educates agency staff on the importance of youth voice and choice.
Serve as a peer advocate to help empower youth.
Document services provided and maintain clinical records in accordance with policies and procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.
Participate in meetings and activities as required.
Provide consultation to the youth and the youth's family members.
Build relationships with community members and organizations to connect youth to resources.
Maintain effective coping and self-care strategies.
Demonstrate on-going commitment to developing professional skills.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and client information.
In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
Be certified or complete training to be certified as a Peer Counselor and complete training in WISe.
Experience and/or knowledge in child welfare highly desired.
Maintain registration as a counselor under chapter RCW 18.19.
Demonstrated ability to work with youth with behavioral health challenges in the community.
Willingness to meet other employment-related requirements as specified by CLR, including position competencies.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Valid Washington State driver's license; proof of insurance.
Satisfactory results from criminal background search.
