Your Role: Youth Services Team Up Program Coordinator

As the Youth Services Team Up Program Coordinator, you will oversee daily program operations, build partnerships with local organizations, and support high-risk families and children affected by gun violence. Your work will ensure seamless service access and contribute to violence reduction within the Waukegan-North Chicago Corridor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Oversight: Manage daily operations, ensure program fidelity, and lead monthly case staffing meetings.
  • Direct Services: Provide trauma-informed screenings, assessments, psychoeducation, psychological first aid, resource navigation, and trauma-specific therapy.
  • Intake and Outreach: Conduct client intakes, assess needs, and lead community outreach, including trauma awareness training.
  • Staff Development: Train, supervise, and develop program staff, ensuring career advancement opportunities and secondary trauma support.
  • Collaboration: Partner with local councils, outreach programs, and stakeholders to support violence reduction and participate in required meetings and training.
  • Reporting: Collect and submit quarterly performance data and reports as required.
  • Team Engagement: Actively participate in staff meetings, case management, and training sessions, collaborating effectively across the organization.
  • Additional Duties: Complete IM+CAN training certification, holiday coverage commitments, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois LCPC or LCSW license.
  • Bilingual Spanish fluency required.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Proven experience in crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Cultural competence, ethical practice, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to supporting survivors, fostering a violence-free society, and thriving in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Schedule: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility to address client needs after-school hours.
  • Work Environment: Professional office settings and secure, confidential shelters.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 pounds, navigate stairs, and move freely across facilities.
  • Service Commitment: 70% direct service target (60% for supervisory roles).
  • Team Engagement: Active participation in 70% of staff meetings.
  • Holiday Coverage: Commitment to two 4-hour shifts for holiday coverage to ensure continuous support.
  • Travel: Community outreach, training, and other duties as required.
  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, paid bi-weekly.
  • Full-Time Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible spending account (FSA); 401(k); paid time off; Employee Assistance Program; and a company-paid lunch break.
  • Other Roles: While benefits are not included, part-time, intern, and contractor positions offer valuable experience and flexibility.
