Position Function:
Responsibilities include supervision of childcare/transportation staff; managing the day-to-day operations of direct childcare and/or transportation of children; ensuring staff are providing for safety, basic childcare, safe transportation, a supportive experience, and providing empathic adult guidance to clients. This position will also ensure the coordination of schedules for childcare and transportation needs as well as ensuring protocols and procedures are in place for safe management of children during the times childcare and transportation services are needed. The job requires sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and ability to function without close supervision.

Education Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited college or university preferred. High School Diploma is required.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of two years of childcare and/or transportation experience. Preferably in a CPA, residential or human service-related setting. Understanding of children affected by trauma and how transitions such as a placement move impact them or willingness to learn.
Functional Requirements:
Oversee the physical care of the facility and agency vehicles, the staffing of schedules for coverage as needed, the 24-hour supervision, basic needs, medical and emotional care, transportation needs and overall safety of clients in care. Use and support a Trauma Informed Care model. Responsible for completion of duties such as ensuring the scheduling of shift staff, meal attainment, laundry, general organization of supplies, food storage, household cleanliness, and assurance of health and safety standards as well as the general vehicle maintenance schedules and responsiveness to crisis. Responsible for the storage and transportation of children’s belongings. Must be available to childcare/transportation staff 24/7 who are providing care to children demonstrate capacity to utilize judgment as to when supervision is needed and to take initiative to make that contact timely. Must be available as needed, on a flexible schedule, to provide supervision to children who are waiting on placement. Hours could include daytime and will likely include overnights and/or weekends. Must be able to transport children, have reliable transportation with a minimum of liability insurance. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be able to operate a multi-passenger vehicle. Must have a driving record, which is within the guidelines of the insurance underwriter.
