Job Summary:

Demonstrates a high level of customer service by working with customers, account managers and contractors to coordinate and create material lists for design projects in a timely and professional manner. Create, maintain, and update estimates of various complexity using customer & contractor drawings, sketches and verbal direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Perform detailed take-offs on various plans (new construction, remodels, additions and various commercial projects)
2. Size joists, beams, and headers with the aid of manufacturer’s software
3. Create floor joist layouts
4. Interact with truss manufacturers
5. Stays current with all local and state codes

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Must hold at least 2 year architectual or structual degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
2. Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints
3. Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, to make metric system conversions, exchange rates, and discount calculations and experience with computers. 
4. Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, self-motivated, sense of pride and urgency, personable, well organized
