SUMMARY
Coordinates catering activities by assuring that the following duties are accomplished. Handles all administrative duties within the catering office. Answers phones, gives information to callers, takes information from clients for prospective events, books prospective events and assists with catering department responsibilities. Promotes and follows LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
OUTCOME
Completion of the above duties will produce successful events for the clients and members while maintaining the department's financial success. Performing the above duties while providing friendly and prompt service is one of the final and necessary steps in completing a contracted banquet event. A satisfied guest is a repeat customer.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in English to groups of managers, employees, clients, guests and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Food Handlers Card. Must have a valid drivers license.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to use a networked PC effectively with a working knowledge of software used currently by department and company. Intermediate experience in Microsoft excel, word and publisher is necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Employees are required to perform all tasks as safely as possible and to adhere to the applicable safety procedures.

INTERACTION
This position interacts frequently with customers, both internal and external, vendors, kitchen staff and banquet staff via phone, computer and in person.
SCHEDULING
This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated unless you were hired for a specific shift, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
