Cheese Specialist Apprentice

ABOUT THIS APPRENTICE PROGRAM

The Cheese Specialist Apprentice Program takes place over 3 months. During this time, the apprentice will work with three different Cheese Specialists learning all aspects of cheese. The program is tailored to the individual, whether you have five years of cheese experience, or just a passion for cheese, through this program the apprentice will learn all they need to run their own cheese counter! In addition, our cheese counters act as a destination for event planning and food pairing professional suggestions. You will gain expertise in creative merchandising, global product offerings, as well as creating a sensational shopping experience for our customers. You will also have the opportunity to work with local vendors, represent our company at community events, and continue your education and training in the area of cheese.

Lunds & Byerlys TBD is currently hiring for a vibrant and outgoing full-time Cheese Specialist Apprentice to create a sensational shopping experience for our customers! This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage of $20.50.

We operate 7 days/week and are open from 6:00am-10:00pm . For this position the employee would be scheduled a range of shifts between 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM .

CHEESE SPECIALIST APPRENTICE RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Cheese Specialist Apprentices are responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as:

• Greeting customers and assisting them with their specialty cheese purchases
• Learning how to educate customers on specialty cheeses
• Learning how to manage cheese inventory
• Learning how to create enticing product displays and sampling assortments
• Evaluating and ensuring product quality and selection
• Collaborating with other departments on marketing and demonstration ideas
• Maintaining cleanliness of the department

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education:

• Required: Highschool diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• One (1) years' experience in food service preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, facility ordering software)
