Take a peek into what makes us different here: The communications specialist uses critical thinking and creativity to write and edit professional content for print, digital and social media channels. As a key contributor within Henderson’s marketing team, this position is responsible for creating engaging stories for Henderson’s various sectors and firm-wide, for both internal and external audiences. The communications specialist produces accessible content that delivers on our brand promise and our employee value proposition, both internally and externally. Duties:

  • Researches, writes, edits and publishes industry-relevant content that engages target audiences and increases brand recognition, including blog posts, technical/thought leadership content, newsletters, video scripts, copywriting and more.
  • Collaborates closely with the marketing team and business line leadership to develop an annual content marketing editorial calendar that supports business objectives.
  • Creates audience profiles for various internal and external clients. Understands the needs of each audience and creates customized content that leads to comprehension and retention of information.
  • Works with the digital marketing specialist to utilize marketing metrics and digital analytics to formulate content strategy and topics that align with the company’s strategic business goals. Analyzes data to measure effectiveness and gauge topic interest in published content.
  • Oversees content life cycle, collaborating with the digital marketing specialist to identify trends and repurpose content through various channels to grow online presence with target audiences.
  • Conducts market research and keeps up with industry trends to assist in strategic decisions surrounding content creation and communications efforts.
  • Accesses and analyzes data analytics on content performance and presents information to marketing team and sector leadership.
Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate environment or at a public relations, communications or digital firm and in a similar role preferred, such as content writer, copywriter, or similar communications discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent writing skills, including editing, proofreading, and re-purposing content.
  • Effective communicator who can interact with people from all levels, backgrounds and perspectives, both internal and external.
Qualifications Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Familiarity with social media metrics, basic technical knowledge of HTML, web publishing and web traffic metrics and experience with Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign preferred.
  • Experience within a related industry such as engineering, construction, architecture, design, or other professional service preferred.

Los Angeles Salary Range: $62,540-$93,810
Las Vegas Salary Range: $56,609-$84,914
Denver Salary Range: $59,305-$88,957
New York Salary Range: $65,775-$98,662
