Position Summary:
The Director of Retail Sales leads the execution of the retail strategy for a specific portfolio of customers. This position leads a team of sales professionals to ensure utilization of best-in-class sales capabilities and to build strategies aligned to the company’s Commercial Strategy.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Lead the executive relationship with a portfolio of specific retail customers
- Partner with specific retail customers while leading a sales team to identify strategic, mutually beneficial short-term and long-term growth opportunities for the retailers that span the company’s capabilities
- Serve as Senior Customer contact for collaboration and influence with portfolio of specific retail customers
- Lead the Customer Sales Team with a cross-functional/general management lens by coaching and bringing knowledge to key decisions from all capability areas within the company
- Steward world-class sales capability building within the Customer team
- Build network and develop strategies and voting decisions representing company in Coca-Cola National Bottling System decision processes, when necessary
- Serve as primary company executive representing retailer strategies in Coca-Cola Bottling System
- Influence, create, coordinate, and communicate pricing architecture, pricing packages, program architecture, promotional activity, big event marketing, etc.
- Develop and influence Channel Strategy and price package plans to meet customer objectives and annual business plan objectives
- Coach sales team to build strategies with their specific retailer customers and align with the company’s Commercial Strategy
- Partner directly with Brand, Supply Chain and Sales Operations teams, etc., as well as Bottling Partners to ensure regional execution of retailer strategies as appropriate
- Serve as internal expert on customers in the portfolio, providing input based on Customer strategies/insights to inform future Commercial Strategy for year over year growth, i.e., Customer Marketing Agreement development, key initiatives, etc.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Marketing, 10 plus years of experience in sales, sales management and/or sales operations, and 6 plus years of people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED, 13 plus years of experience in sales, sales management and/or sales operations, and 7 plus years of people leadership experience
