Job Description - Junior Analyst, Compliance & Control

09 Junior Analyst, Compliance & Risk



The Team: The Junior Analyst within Ratings Compliance & Risk has a broad range of responsibilities supporting the Ratings Compliance & Risk department. The position is a part of the team that maintains S&P Global Ratings policies; creates, tracks and coordinates compliance training; oversees global compliance-related projects and presentations; gathers and processes data on global department activities, such as complaints, internal reviews, and disciplinary actions; and supports the senior management team of the department in the preparation of reports and presentations relating to department activities and results. This role reports to the Global Chief Matrix Officer for Ratings Compliance & Risk.



Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, monitor, and track Ratings compliance and risk data across regions
  • Assist with preparation of PowerPoint presentations and reports for boards, regulators, and internal audiences
  • Prepare reports for department senior management
  • Coordinate with colleagues across regions to ensure consistency
  • Assist compliance officers in various tasks
  • Maintain databases and electronic files, and upload information as required
  • Work with department senior management on special projects
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years post-college experience in financial services industry related to compliance, audit, risk or regulatory management, or other complex regulatory environments
  • Experience with tracking issues and compiling data for reports
  • Understanding of operational or compliance risk management process a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Excellent organizational skills, keen ability to focus and prioritize tasks
  • Agile mindset, good judgment skills, and ability to respond quickly to change
  • Self-motivated, ability to take direction and work well under pressure
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, highly desirable
Preferred Requirements:
  • Strong computer skills, specifically MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Tableau experience is a plus. Interest in learning and ability to learn quickly other computer applications and packages
  • Service-oriented and interested in global work and able to work effectively with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Great communicator skills with the ability to influence and challenge across all levels within a matrix environment
  • Growth mindset and interest in upward mobility within an organization
