Practice Leader, Retail

This role reports into the above mentioned office, however NORR offers all of its employees the opportunity to work either from home, from a NORR office or even from a remote location. Discipline oversight by Practice Leaders results in an increase in project quality, productivity and value delivered to clients. They are also responsible for updating corporate policies to ensure documentation remains current and relevant. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Recommends and implements changes to corporate quality control procedures and policies as required
• Researches and sources new systems, materials, and resources; analyzes processes, procedures, and working practices to identify and implement changes to increase efficiency, quality, and overall profitability
• Participates in the development of comprehensive business solutions that meet or exceed client objectives for new and existing projects
• Attends meetings with project managers as necessary and liaises with various stakeholders to determine project criteria, deliver presentations, coordinate resources and provide information as requested
• Routinely reviews all work for conformance to design, code, technical and quality to ensure all requirements are met
• Provides expert advice and recommendations to resolve complex, technical or unusual design issues or concerns
• Shares expert knowledge of current design techniques, building systems, code analysis and construction methodologies to improve the skills of the Studio team and to ensure they are implemented on project work
• Recommends best practices and identifies opportunities for future project profitability and quality
• Guides the development of staff capabilities; builds a culture that supports productivity, innovation, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism; leads by example

Required Skills

• Experience in all phases of the project cycle is required
• Architectural design software skills including Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop and other architectural design software
• Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required
• Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
• Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset

Required Experience

• 15+ years of project work experience
• Experience in Retail projects is an asset
• Salary Range: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 /annually
