Job Description - Principal, Amazon Fresh Operations Trading

DESCRIPTION

Here at Amazon Grocery Stores, we are passionate about revolutionizing the grocery shopping experience. If you are interested in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly-collaborative environment that’s more start-up than big company, we want you! The Worldwide Grocery Stores team is seeking to hire a newly created Principal, Operations Trading (Sales) position. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the store operations strategies and tactics to drive and grow top line sales. You will partner closely with Category, Merchandising, Marketing, Human Resources, and Field Store Operations teams to bring sales driving initiatives to life in stores. This includes
(1) winning holidays and seasons,
(2) launching new brands, menu items, and services, and
(3) Representing operations in assortment selection, planogram builds, and inventory allocation. In this role, you will build new and enhance existing mechanisms, tools, and support resources to support operations in strategy development, planning, execution, and follow-up. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience managing large-scale projects in retail grocery environments, planning and directing projects from ideation to post-delivery evaluation, influencing without authority, prioritization, and juggling multiple priorities to make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role follows a hybrid location model and is available to be based in Seattle, Chicago, or Arlington, VA. Candidates must be willing to work at our offices in one of these locations three days per week. Job Requirements:
-Define and deliver important programs with broad cross-functional and cross-organizational business impact
-Lead the design of the solution, implementation, and delivery of a highly complicated cross-functional project in a new business area
-Bring strong, data-driven business and strategic judgment to decisions
-Invent, evolve, improve, and simplify processes and technology requirements (when appropriate).
-Develop business and process requirements, prioritize needs, and manage milestones and overall roadmap. Create buy-in for the vision both internally and with key external partners
-Approach complex business problems, aligning divergent stakeholder teams to a common plan
-Be responsible for the program’s KPI and goals tracking, reporting on status of annual goals to leadership and writing required documents
-Develop and implement pipeline management tracking and mechanisms to scale and easily identify issues.
-Work with cross-functional partners to establish best practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and proactively identify blockers to remove roadblocks.
-Identify areas of risk to project timelines, and escalate to program leadership in a timely manner.
-Work with Finance to build pro-forma financial templates, trackable key performance metrics and scorecards for events.
-Work with the Customer Insights team to better understand customer demographic data to build and tailor the right holiday strategy and tactics across the network.
-Implement a comprehensive operational readiness assessment leading up to all major events. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Arlington, VA, USA | Chicago, IL, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- 7+ years of grocery retail industry experience
