Job Description

AECOM  is seeking a Project Manager for our Atlanta Office. Responsibilities may include: 

• Manage portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
• Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
• Consistently deliver profit margins planned.
• Consistently complete project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
• Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
• Manages more complex clients and projects.
• Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
• Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
• Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.

 

Detailed Position Responsibilities:

Manage projects that include an emphasis on receipt, storage, transfer, and issue of finished fuel products such as aviation jet fuel, diesel fuel, ethanol, and motor gasoline.

Projects include tanker truck receipt, marine vessel receipt, aboveground and underground transfer pipelines, aboveground and underground horizontal and vertical storage tanks, and aircraft and tanker truck issue systems. Projects will also include ground vehicle refueling systems such as fleet and retail service stations.

Position will include responsibility for development of project execution plans, project schedules, and project budgets. Project manager will be responsible for completing projects on schedule and within the established budgets and for ensuring that all contract requirements have been met.

Project manager will work with multidiscipline engineering teams including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Project manager will be responsible for relaying project and client requirements to the project team and for acquiring information needed from the client for the project team to complete their work.

Project manager will ensure that the project team is following established project quality procedures and documenting quality control milestones. Project manager will schedule and facilitate design review meetings with multidiscipline engineering teams when required by the established quality control program. Project manager will ensure designers are following the design plans and that the design work is coordinated with other disciplines.

Project manager will manage subcontractors such as topographical and geotechnical survey companies required to complete design work. Project manager will facilitate the development of subcontractor scopes of work and scheduling of field work.

Project manager will provide input on client billing and will track financial status of projects including total amount invoiced, outstanding invoices, gross revenue, and net revenue. Project manager will periodically review project finical status with program manager. 

Project manager will interface with and manage clients related to on-going projects. Project manager will be responsible for understanding client requirements and client satisfaction. Project manager will work to develop trusting relationships with clients and will be responsive to client requests and needs. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum

Qualifications

4-year degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.

Eight years of design and project management experience. 

Experience with commercial and/or Department of Defense fueling design projects. Other experience related to process design, waste water treatment, and/or heavy industry design projects will be considered as an alternate. 

Ability to travel one week per month inside the US and internationally.

Ability to pass background checks and gain access to military installations.

 

Preferred

Qualifications

Professional Engineering License.

Experience with design and management of commercial aviation fueling projects, pipelines, and bulk storage tanks.

Experience with design and management of AFCEC, NAVFAC, and USACE fueling projects.
