Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) delivers a suite of payments services to financial institutions via FedLine® Solutions, Fedwire®, National Settlement Service (NSS), FedCash®, FedACH® (Automated Clearing House), Check Services, and the FedNow® Service. In 2020, we undertook a strategic effort to transform FRFS from a product and support office framework to a national, enterprise-focused organization. The enterprise structure integrated the prior retail, wholesale, cash, and customer relations product and support offices into a new organization, which was further joined by the FedNow team in early 2024. Our North Star strategy, with the new structure, is to offer a fully integrated product suite that provides speed, resilience, and choice in meeting the payments needs of financial institutions across the United States. Your Role as a Senior Industry Relations Representative
As a Senior Industry Relations Representative, you will lead large-scale programs in support of our external engagement strategy and FedNow® market development initiatives. You will primarily be responsible for the FRFS external engagement strategy where you will be instrumental in coordinating and leading efforts related to strategy planning and execution to engage with external partners. In addition, you will be expected to lead initiatives related to the market development activities for FedNow. This could include participating in efforts to build favorable relationships with industry organizations to achieve strategic objectives and/or soliciting industry support to promote adoption of FRFS strategic products. This role requires exceptional coordination and communication skills, knowledge of the financial services and payment industry and the ability to work independently and strategically to achieve organizational objectives. The level of work required is considered advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. This position does not have direct reports.

Your Responsibilities

  • Gather input from and coordinate with internal cross-functional partners (including marketing, strategic industry engagement, market intel, product, legal, customer relations) to drive creation and execution of strategy and tactics.
  • Identify and effectively analyze new opportunities for FRFS, ultimately making recommendations to relevant decision makers and cross-functional partners.
  • Use strategic creativity to collaborate with FRFS leaders to drive innovation in our external presence.
  • Exhibit an operationally focused mindset, with an ability to lead teams through complex relationship management activities by setting a clear vision and running tight processes.
  • Build complex project plans, coordinates reviews and approvals, and proactively manage the process to meet deadlines.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of work experience related to the financial services or payments industry.
  • Prior product management, project management or program management.
  • Experience participating in the development of strategic plans and roadmaps.

Your Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of US payments landscape (ACH, Card, Wire, Check, Instant Payments).
  • Demonstrates the ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex problems.
  • Desire to manage and/or participate in multiple projects in a highly complex, fast-paced agile environment, that is geographically diverse, and a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrates the ability to influence stakeholders across a wide variety of functions, including at executive levels.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, in both verbal and written form.
  • Possess the ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-moving organization and thrives on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Ability to b uild productive and collaborative relationships with team members and proactively providing and seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.

Requirements

Must be willing to travel up to 10% of time.

Hybrid Work

Candidates that live near one of our Reserve Bank locations will be provided some work from home flexibility. Rules for hybrid work arrangements differs from Bank to Bank and should be discussed during the interview process.

This position requires access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who either are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization or who have applied for naturalization within the requisite timeframe.
