Job Description - Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions of The Duck Company’s business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures.  You will be assisting in maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors and managing all aspects of accounts payable processing.  Please note: This is an in-person, full-time position in Arvada, CO. Remote work is not offered.  What you’ll do:
  • Receive and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness before processing (3-way match) including proper approvals and account coding.
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system, processing weekly and manual check runs as needed.
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and address payment-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files, including W-9 tracking, 1099’s, and other required documentation.

What you bring:
  • Microsoft Office, including Excel (advanced-expert level), Word, and Outlook
  • SAP Business One experience highly desired
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and thrives in a fast-paced result-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker with a strong work ethic as well as a willingness to be a part of a team.
  • Ability to quickly learn internal systems, workflows, and technologies.
  • Bachelors in Accounting highly preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Accounts Payable.

Salary Range: $55,000-65,000 depending on experience. In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Mental/Physical Requirements:  While in the office this position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
