Job Description - Bookkeeper

Part time flexible hours

Minimum qualifications of a high school diploma with four years experience in the areas of general business operations, office management, accounting and bookkeeping. May also possess an Associate of Arts Degree in business. Must have proven knowledge and experience in the following: organizing office materials and clerical work, filing, and working with a wide variety of people and situations. Must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information, and complete tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Experience with Accounting Software, Excel, and Word are required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus. Must have a working knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is:

  • organized and detail oriented
  • min 4 years accounting experience
  • works well with a team
  • wants to work for a company that makes a difference in the community

The Part-time Bookkeeper will assist the Controller in bookkeeping, accounting, and other business related areas. The Part-time Bookkeeper will also provide back-up support to the Accounting Assistant in day-to-day management of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. Specific duties and responsibilities also include

Essential Functions

Primarily responsible for the following accounting and bookkeeping functions:

  • Receive and process sales orders & invoices
  • Record inventory assemblies in the general ledger
  • Reconcile month-end inventory
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage accounts receivable
  • Process accounts payable, as assigned
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing
