This posting will be available until Friday 4/21/2023 at 11:59 p.m. There are multiple trainee positions available. Applicants that are selected to move to the next steps of the process will be contacted in early May 2023. All applicants will receive updates as soon as they are available. For organizational planning purposes, the target start date for this training program will be in mid July 2023.
The training portion of the trainee program will be held virtually. Selected individuals will work from home in ERIE’s operating footprint during the approximately 22-week program.
This intensive program is designed to prepare you for immediate success as a DSM following its completion. You will work directly with our top performing Sales Management team, our Independent Agents, and enjoy extensive Senior & Executive Leadership exposure to network and develop all of the needed skills and knowledge to succeed.
Following successful completion of the DSM Training Program, you will be assigned to a Branch Office in ERIE’s operating footprint and will be relocated to that territory. Currently, our footprint includes:
IL, IN, KY, MD, NC, NY, OH, PA, TN, VA, Washington DC, WV and WI
Once assigned to your territory, you will work remotely in that territory. You will be assigned equipment and a company car once in your territory.

Minimum Required Education Equivalents • Bachelor’s degree, required; or • Associate’s degree and two years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience, required; or • High school diploma or GED and four years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience, required. Master’s degree preferred. Completion of insurance designations such as CIC or CPCU preferred. Willingness to pursue insurance designations required. Successful completion of Life and Property/Casualty licensing exams required to complete training program. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required. LOMA testing required. Willingness to relocate to other offices required. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Frequent travel required.
