Financial Analyst

Genesis Technical has a contract to direct opportunity for a Financial Analyst in Saraland, AL.Job Description Summary:
The Financial Planning and Analysis role is a member of the refinery finance team responsible for partnering with the site to deliver on operational and financial commitments.  The FP&A analyst is responsible for developing budgets, forecasts and financial models that support the company’s strategic goals and help in making informed business decisions. In addition, the role will be part of the Mobile finance pool to allow opportunities to support projects, allocated based on development needs and workload. 
Essential Job Functions: 

• Develop and analyze trends of key performance indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as sales, expenses, and profit margin.
• Prepare and present analyses, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management to support critical decisions for the company.
• Present the monthly and quarterly financial reports of various units and departments.
• Lead and consolidate annual site budget process.
• Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives.
• Support the management team and Department Leaders with data-driven analysis.
• Partner with multiple stakeholders (i.e. Third Parties, Site Leadership, Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Engineering, Projects, etc.) to ensure delivery of financial and operational commitments safely, reliably, and in compliance with approved policies, procedures, and accounting guidelines.
• Lead and drive process improvement and excellence within the site finance team as well as across departmental boundaries.
• Leverage knowledge of the business environment and its impact on performance to articulate and propose opportunities and/or areas of value leakage.
• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead through change.
• Ad-hoc business performance reporting.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
• 10+ years of experience in broad finance knowledge and expertise with strong financial analytic, diagnostic, and economic valuation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite, SAP, Power BI preferred
• Ability to gain the confidence of various internal and external parties building on strong knowledge and understanding of the business drivers, value, and risk.
• Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to commercial decision-making process and risk management bringing analytics and insights to the table.
• Ability to apply a risk-based, practical approach to problem solving, coupled with the ability to rationalize decisions with significant uncertainty and incomplete info.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to relay financial information to people with different financial backgrounds.
• Ability to understand end-users needs and translate into successful delivery.
• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead through change.

Given the recent acquisition of the Mobile Refinery, the Finance space is a fast-past environment where adaptability and resilience are key areas with a focus on efficiencies and continuous improvement.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are a must.
FLSA Status: Exempt (exempt meaning exempt from being paid OT)
Work Schedule: 9/80 Schedule with additional hours during month end close
